When I saw B.B. King singing with full potency at 81, in Crossroads Guitar Festival, I learned that a voice can be nurtured to keep singing; just like B.B., Tony Bennett or Eric Clapton whose voices only became more tempered, warmer and grown in expressiveness and body. I can add Mick Hucknall, Jackson Browne and Gordon Lightfoot to that list, too.
It was Jackson Browne who inspired me the thought because I just heard Redemption song with him, from the nineties, I guess. And recently saw him in a series of videos from NPR Music, called Tiny desk concerts, where he sang Call it a loan, an old Jackson Browne, but with a very warm and expressive voice.
I'd love to get older and still be able to sing a few songs, just like old Jackson Browne.
